The sensitivity that this treatment produces feels similar to that of mild sunburn which may be a little uncomfortable, but not necessarily painful. Due to the procedure involving warming of the skin, it may be necessary for cool packs to be applied at intervals of the treatment and also when it has finished. This will help to calm the skin and ease any feelings of sensitivity.

Immediate effects of the treatment can include: swelling, bruising, redness and sensitivity. These are temporary effects which have often eased to a more comfortable state within 24 hours. While the outcome of the procedure is developing it is normal for the skin to become uneven or dimpled, which is also temporary. Any other potential complications will be discussed at the pre-treatment consultation.

The effects of this treatment do not often cause a prolonged period of downtime for many patients. The level of discomfort felt can vary from person to person, deciding how easy to take things based on their own level of tenderness.
